Alicia Keys will key in as Madame Butterfly

What else can you ask for if you are Alicia Keys? She is a singer, songwriter, pianist extraordinaire, producer, author, news correspondent, award winner, philanthropist and actress. And to add to her musical hybrid of soul, hip-hop, jazz and classical, you will see her on opera as she will be “Madame Butterfly” of New York. This three-act play is a re-imagining of the Giacomo Puccini opera Madame Butterfly. The story is all about the tragic love affair between a young Japanese girl and an American sailor. The concept will be pure melodrama, set to music, that is why Producer Sidney Kimmell, pick Alicia to play lead role because she has the perfect voice as Madame Butterfly.
This beautiful masterpiece of American and African blood has earned numerous awards such as twelve Grammy Awards, eleven Billboard Music Awards, five American Music Awards, three World Music Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, three MTV Europe Awards, two Nickelodeon Teen Choice Awards, three BET Awards, fourteen NAACP Image Awards, seven Soul Train Music Awards, two Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, two People’s Choice Award, one My VH1 Award and more.
When asked about singing, Alicia has this to say. “There’s no formula to my music, it’s just rooted in my heart and soul. Whether I talk about visiting the pyramids in Egypt, to witnessing the AIDS epidemic in Africa or matters of the heart everyone will be able to experience where I’ve been and where I am going in my life.” She is indeed an epitome of wittiness, prettiness and skills.
A few months earlier, Alicia gave birth to her eldest boy named Egypt Dean, but now she’s back in shape and I’m sure she is ready again to wear the kind of mini black dresses she used to wear before like the ones below:
